pSYCHOLOGY OF FLOURISHING
At the Archbridge Institute, we view the psychology of flourishing as the personal characteristics, ideas, goals, and behaviors that support human progress and flourishing.
...
We support an outward, future, and action-oriented view of well-being that places human agency at the center of how we think about the good life. This view encourages a range of activities, such as entrepreneurship and family formation, that reflect people’s efforts to go out in the world and serve, create, build, or innovate.
“Ultimately, meaning in life is foundational to psychological health. Meaning acts as a buffer
against depression, anxiety, addiction, and self-harm. In the face of adversity, people who
possess a robust sense of meaning demonstrate greater emotional resilience and are better
able to navigate life’s challenges in a healthy and constructive way.”
“For a free society to flourish, it needs to be populated with mentally healthy and growthoriented individuals. It needs to be populated with people who believe in themselves, their
fellow citizens, and the institutions that support freedom and opportunity. It needs to be
populated with action-oriented individuals who are inspired to roll up their sleeves and work
hard to improve their own lives and make positive contributions to their families, communities,
and broader society.”
