Bring business back to Illinois — and Illinoisans back home

What do Indiana, Wisconsin, Texas, Florida, and Tennessee all have in common? According to the U.S. Census Bureau, at least 5,000 more Illinoisans moved to each of these states than residents of those states moved to Illinois last year.

Another thing they have in common: Every single one of those states has a more dynamic business environment that allows for entrepreneurship and economic growth. Illinois, however, ranks just 44th in the nation for policies that allow for entrepreneurship and economic growth.

Fortunately, these man-made problems have simple man-made solutions. A reform agenda centered on lower taxes and fewer stifling regulations can improve the economy and promote opportunity for all Illinoisans. Illinois could enact laws centered around promoting entrepreneurship, and reducing barriers to opportunities can help solve these issues.
